The Robinson

Robinson now plays an iconic role in Városliget's everyday life. The restaurant –uniquely in Europe -was built on the Island of the Varosliget’s Lake, and opened its doors on July 16, 1989. It didn’t take much time and the Robinson has become the number one hangout spot of the citizens, the celebrities and the tourists, who brought the news of excellent cuisine and the fabulous venue around the world after their visit.

The restaurant, headed by the owner and restaurateur Árpád László, has been given the maximum experience for all its guests since 33 years and trying to seduce them on a thrilling adventure on the Robinson's board.

The Kitchen

The upstairs steakhouse is clearly the mecca of meat lovers. Here, guests are always impressed with the renewed specialties – mentioning here Master Dario Cecchini's special Florentine T-bone steaks, roasted in the Josper Charcoal Owen - but of course the traditional Hungarian dishes or the Italian light meals are also not missing from the seasonally renewable menu.

The building can accommodate up to 80 people in winter - in summer it can be expanded with a 100-person terrace; the two spaces unite almost unnoticeably, creating a particularly free and airy atmosphere. The Robinson Restaurant is a very popular wedding venue , but business dinners, corporate events and family events are also often held at our tables.

MILIEU

Our guests can enjoy our heavenly dishes surrounded by the Liget's fabulous ancient trees, and watching the lights dancing on the water - so it's no surprise that we've had a huge number of famous celebrities over the last decades: Sylvester Stallone, David Copperfield, David Bowie or Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has just returned to Budapest (and to us, too!) have all already joined us in a gastronomic adventure - and we are very proud of this.

The excellent location is clearly an additional plus for the restaurant, but it demands constant flexibility, preparedness and professional quality also to run and serve near the Heroes Square, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Zoo, the Capital Circus of Budapest and the Műcsarnok - and we are working for twenty-four hours a day to make all our guests satisfied.
